Another nice day for a walk --
" UKIP and Yorkshire Patriots, Stand Up To Racism and Palestine Solidarity Campaign all plan demonstrations in the city between 12:00 BST and 15:00 BST."
Good to hear that Sky is finally installed

I well remember being informed that the radiation clouds were stopping at our frontier ! Winds were so variable that it's very difficult to know if that was fake info ....

I wonder if anyone bet on there being an assassination attempt on Trump at the correspondents' dinner

Thanks refit ! I deliberately had not looked at all the reportage around it, but did have one private question -- " How far away WAS the shooter ?"refitman wrote: Sun Apr 26, 2026 3:29 pm This seems to be a pretty important detail, being left out of reports

I very clearly remember, at the time!, the IAEA issuing obviously very minimised figures for Chernobyl deaths --
A 1991 international assessment, produced in close collaboration with Soviet authorities, concluded that health impacts were limited. That report has since been contested by numerous independent health experts who argue its methodology was shaped more by politics than science. The IAEA knew what it was working with. It went along anyway, because Western nuclear powers had their own industries to protect.

Why are American assassins so shit? In the films they're all cool, opening up their special suitcase to put together a hi-tech gun that can hit a small mouse from 5 miles away. It even makes a cool bleeping noise as they focus in on their target. And yet in reality they're so incompetent they keep missing a big fat orange target.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating the assassination of Trump, almost entirely because I think it would be counterproductive. I'm just wondering how such a gun happy culture could produce such rank amateurs.

I dunno Froggy. Grinning and smiling after surviving a threat is pretty instinctive primate behaviour.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending these creatures, they're the worst, but what you're doing is what the police and the right have done for more than a century in trying to judge people by their physiognomy.

Was shooter in fact quite close to them, or on another floor completely ?
Looking like another nice day:-)
